How to Prepare a Contact Sample Review
A practical checklist for starting an electrical contact sample review without delaying the first conversation. Use it as a starting point for your sourcing review.

You do not need every answer before contacting us
Most custom parts start with incomplete information. A current part, clear photo, application description, or drawing can each provide a useful starting point. The first discussion identifies what is already known and which dimensions, material details, assembly features, or inspection points need to be clarified before sampling.
Choose the best information you have
A physical sample helps establish shape, surface, joining features, and the current assembly relationship. A photo is useful when a sample is not yet available. A drawing becomes especially useful once dimensions, tolerances, and specific requirements are known.
- Application description: where the part is used and what needs to be sourced, reproduced, or improved
- Product photo: the current structure and the features that appear important
- Physical sample: the part, support, finish, and assembly relationship
- Drawing: available dimensions, material, tolerance, and inspection requirements
Add part details when available
The following information does not need to be complete on day one, but it helps define a practical sampling plan and later quotation.
- Product family or the closest known part type
- Required quantity, timing, and whether the request is a sample or production order
- Known material, surface, application, or destination-market requirements
- Important dimensions, assembly interface, and acceptance checks
- Any requested documentation, third-party testing, or review requirement
What happens after the initial check
The work moves through requirement clarification, drawing or sample checks, a preliminary feasibility assessment and non-binding budgetary quote when the information is sufficient, sample development, and final production quotation based on the verified material and manufacturing process. Mass production starts after approval and agreement on the production specification. Production orders generally start at 100 pieces per part number per order. We assess individual contact-rivet samples and smaller pilot quantities separately; final timing follows the confirmed material, tooling, inspection, payment, and production conditions.
